My African journey began in 1994 in the city of Lusaka, Zambia.

I lived and worked in Lusaka as a Christian missionary for 4.5 years, but have continued to travel back and forth from Africa to the U.S., returning to Texas in 1998. The African Work has been ministering the Word to various churches, specifically educating pastors and leaders, Bible school, radio programs, one named “Faith Fighters” and a Health and Nutrition program.

During these years, I travelled to other African countries; South Africa, Uganda and Kenya. The purpose of these travels was to minister God’s Word. I met Pastor Victor Kunda in Lusaka, Zambia as he was attending the Lusaka Bible school.  Our relationship grew into a partnership in the Gospel, and has continued for over twenty-two years.

When I first met Pastor Kunda, he and his family (wife Annie, and five children)  rented a one room living quarter. He walked most places, but his determination to know the truth of God’s word would bring him many blessings from the Lord. These include a private residence (home), a vehicle, (he was sixty, when getting his 1st car), church and school building, 10 hectares (24.7 acres) of fertile farm land used for growing vegetable crops, a bore hole (water well) and storage tank, a chicken coup filled with egg laying chickens and protein source.

The church is used for services and class rooms.

The new school building is located on the ministry owned compound (secured land) and is used for the education of 112 campus-based orphaned children (our victorious children) and other local children.  There are eight paid school teachers, the recent success of the school provided the funding for two additional teachers. The children are clothed, fed, educated and loved. We are believing for a facility to house our victorious children, and big enough to receive more. Our 10 hectares has ample room for the building.

We have a new bore hole (fresh water well) which is used by many in the community, chicken coup, eggs, for the local market, clothing business run by Annie Kunda (Pastors wife).

The ministry vision and goal for this model plan, as the Lord provides, is to replicate this model throughout Zambia and then into other countries.

This vision (teach a man to fish, and you feed him for life) is not small, and the funds it takes are not small, so my hope is to gain new partners who will support this growing work financially. Orphans are unlimited in places like Africa, but training them up in the Lord Jesus is crucial for the survival of Christianity in Africa and other continents. Please, consider becoming a partner with us. I believe you will find us prosperous ground to sew financial seed into.

Blessings in Christ,

Jackie Houle
